Phoenixville, Pa. – Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, in collaboration with Phoenixville Hospital, hosted a Grand Opening for a new 15-bed inpatient hospice unit on December 8, 2011. The unit, staffed by Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, features three private patient rooms with family sleeping accommodations and six semi-private patient rooms. Unit amenities for patient families include a family lounge, a multi-purpose meeting room with a kitchenette area and a café-style dining room.
Veterans are in need of quality end-of-life care, too. To provide care and support that reflect the important contributions made by these men and women, most Seasons Hospice locations have become a national partner of We Honor Veterans, a pioneering campaign developed by National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and the Department of Veterans Affairs. The campaign provides tiered recognition to organizations that demonstrate a systematic commitment to improving care for Veterans.
On February 23, 2011, 20 memorial services were held at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care nationwide locations. The second annual Day of Remembrance is led by staff chaplains and Music therapists, honoring the patients served in years past.
Three more Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care locations were recognized for a “deep abiding commitment to quality end-of-life care” during a series of site surveys by a Joint Commission surveyor, according to The Joint Commission’s website: Phoenix, AZ, Orange, CA and St. Louis, MO service areas. Eleven Seasons Hospice locations are now accredited by the Joint Commission.
Melrose Park, Ill. – Westlake Hospital opened an 18-bed hospice inpatient unit December 2, 2011, servicing Cook and DuPage Counties. The unit is staffed by Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care and features private patient rooms with family sleeping accommodations, a patient spa, café-style dining area, full kitchen and family lounge.
